What is a freestanding kitchen?
A freestanding kitchen is made up of individual units that are not fixed permanently to the walls. This style offers greater flexibility, character and ease when planning your layout. It also allows you to mix and match pieces to create a kitchen that feels personal to your home.
Do you offer fitted kitchens?
No, we specialise exclusively in freestanding kitchens. This allows us to focus on the craftsmanship, flexibility and timeless appeal that freestanding design offers.
What materials do you use?
Our kitchens are made from high quality solid oak combined with strong, durable engineered panels. Every piece is built to last and finished by hand for a smooth, premium look.
Can I choose my own paint colour?
Yes. Our hand painted kitchens can be finished in any colour you choose. Whether you prefer soft neutrals, bold tones or something completely unique, we can help you select the perfect shade.
Do you make bespoke units?
Many of our units can be adapted in size, layout or finish to suit your space. Our designers will talk you through all the options and help you decide what works best for your home.

How long does a design consultation take?
A typical consultation lasts around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your project. If you already have ideas or measurements, feel free to bring them along.
Do I need to book an appointment to visit the showroom?
You are welcome to visit any time. If you would like dedicated design time with one of our experts, we recommend booking a consultation in advance.
Where is your showroom located?
Our showroom is inside Simply Dutch in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire. There is free parking on site and we are open seven days a week.
Can you help with small kitchens or awkward layouts?
Yes. Freestanding units are perfect for maximising smaller spaces, unusual corners and period properties. We will help you create a layout that fits your home perfectly.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes. We provide delivery throughout the UK. Delivery costs will depend on your location and the size of your order. We will discuss this with you when finalising your design.
Do you offer installation?
We do not install kitchens ourselves, as freestanding units are generally easier to position than fully fitted cabinetry. However, many customers work with their own joiner or builder, and we can provide advice if needed.
How long will my kitchen take to arrive?
Lead times vary depending on the style, finish and current order volumes. Your designer will give you an estimated timeframe during the planning stage.
Can I purchase individual pieces, such as a larder or island?
Yes. You can buy single units, replacement pieces or complete kitchen sets. Many customers choose to add to their kitchen over time.
Do you offer matching furniture?
Yes. Our units sit beautifully alongside furniture from Simply Dutch. Many customers choose dining tables, chairs and accessories during the same visit.
